A coalition of schools, universities, libraries and startups have today launched a campaign calling on the government to extend Australia’s copyright safe harbours.
The campaign highlights the broad cross-sector support for a simple system for dealing with online copyright infringement for Australia. The Australian Digital Alliance joins its members in supporting the campaign.
Australia’s educators, cultural institutions, disability organisations and tech sector welcome the Government’s commitment to modernisation of our copyright system and to ensuring fairer access to content for Australians.
Australians with a disability will have some of the strongest rights to access content in the world, thanks to changes to Australia’s copyright laws passed today.
A landmark Bill to end the book famine for Australians with a vision impairment is welcomed by peak copyright body the Australian Digital Alliance (ADA). This Bill makes important and long overdue changes to Australia’s copyright system to ensure that all Australians with a disability can access the same content as other Australians.
