The ADA Copyright Forum is Australia's premier event on copyright and the public interest. This year's Forum saw record numbers attend to hear a keynote address from Deputy Chair of the Productivity Commission, Karen Chester, and panels featuring some of the most prominent names in copyright globally - including Professor Patricia Aufderheide, Professor Sean Flynn, Professor Michael Geist, Professor Peter Jaszi, Professor Sang Jo Jong, and Bill Patry.

The ADA is very proud to announce its first 2018 keynote will be Professor Ruth Okediji, the Jeremiah Smith. Jr, Professor of Law at Harvard Law School and Co-Director of the Berkman Klein Center. Professor Okediji's name will be very familiar to anyone already involved in copyright. She is a foremost authority in international intellectual property law, focusing in her work particularly on its role in social and economic development. She played a key role in the negotiation of the Marrakesh Treaty to Facilitate Access to Published Works by Visually Impaired Persons and Persons with Print Disabilities, and her most recent book, Copyright Law in an Age of Limitations and Exceptions, brings together leading copyright scholars to consider the critical role of copyright in social, economic and cultural productivity.
