Karen Chester and Bill Patry join the cast of the ADA Forum
We are very excited to announce two new guest speakers for the ADA Forum:
- Karen Chester, Deputy Chair of the Productivity Commission. Karen has worked as a key economic adviser in both the public and private sectors and is one of the Commissioners responsible for the PC's soon-to-be-released Intellectual Property Inquiry; and
- Bill Patry, one of the US's foremost copyright experts, who has advised the US House of Representatives and Register of Copyright, written dozens of works on copyright and copyright reform, and is currently a Senior Copyright Counsel at Google.
These two will join our already impressive line up of local and international speakers, including Professor Patricia Aufderheide, Professor Sean Flynn, Professor Michael Geist, Dr Rebecca Giblin, Professor Peter Jaszi, Heesob Nam, Dr Nicolas Suzor, Dr Kylie Pappalardo, and Kimberlee Weatherall to discuss the role of fair use, flexibility and exceptions for creativity in the copyright ecosystem. And there are still more to come!
In other exciting news - the draft program for the Forum is now available. So check out all the details of the day, then get in quick for your earlybird tickets, before they sell out.
Finally, the ADA is proud to announce that the evening before the Forum it be hosting the launch of a new work from ANU Press: What if we could reimagine Copyright? edited by Dr Rebecca Giblin and Kimberlee Weatherall. The launch will also serve as pre-conference social drinks, giving you a chance to meet the speakers and your copyright peers. When you're booking your travel, don't forget to allow time to attend.
We look forward to seeing you all in February.
