2019 Forum Keynotes and Registration!

The moment you've been waiting for has arrived - registration for the ADA Copyright Forum 2019 is now open.

We are also thrilled to announce our first three speakers for the Forum:

  • Julia Reda, Member of the European Parliament, and one of Europe’s most outspoken advocates for the public in copyright debates;
  • Dr Michael Geist, Canada Research Chair in Internet and E-commerce Law at the University of Ottawa, and a strong voice globally in favour of fair and flexible exceptions;
  • Emeritus Professor Tom Cochrane, Queensland University of Technology, founder and current Board member of the ADA.

2019 is a momentous year for the Australian Digital Alliance, as the 20th anniversary of our formal launch.

The Alliance was formed to support the public interest by representatives from the cultural, education, consumer, research and technology sectors in response to fears that hasty solutions to the challenges posed by digital technology could lead to over-protection at the expense of research, learning, innovation in this country.

As we reach this important milestone we will be asking have these fears been realised? And what can we expect from the next 20 years?

The ADA Copyright Forum 2019 will take place at the National Library of Australia in Canberra on Friday 22 March 2019. Registrations are open now on Eventbrite.
