The 2012 ADA Copyright Forum will serve as a “conversation starter” in the lead up to the anticipated copyright review by the Australian Law Reform Commission, with panel sessions to consider whether existing exceptions in the Copyright Act are adequate and appropriate in the digital environment.

Topics up for discussion include:

  • An exception for mash-ups, re-mixes and transformative use of copyright works

  • The global agenda for copyright exceptions – WIPO reforms on exceptions for libraries, archives and persons with print disabilities

  • Support for digital innovators – facilitating growth of our internet industries

  • The ‘fair use’ defence – revisiting our position on fair use

  • Trade agreements – ensuring copyright reforms grow our digital economy
